VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Friendship Center's unique program for the elderly works because many people make the Center a friendly place to be. Staff and volunteers bring a genuine concern for our members.

Our volunteers are VITAL to every area of our program. We welcome volunteers of all ages to:

• Help with food preparation and kitchen cleanup at noontime. Assist staff with Greet, Meet and Eat in the mornings.
• Lead or help in directing activities such as painting, crafts, music, etc.
• Be sporadically on-call for events, special mailings, or when we just need an extra hand
• Spend quality time with individuals: holding hands, listening, playing a game or putting together a puzzle, or sharing experiences, etc.
• Other ideas? We are always open to suggestions

• Auxiliary Staff - Volunteers needed to join our auxiliary staff. Our focus is fundraising and various duties for our Festival of Hearts Event.
• Attention Musicians - Friendship Center is seeking musicians to play at our center for 1/2 hour or more per week. We are a very appreciative audience and a great place to practice your new material. Morning, noon, or afternoon, we welcome your talents. We enjoy all kinds of music.
• Be a Buddy - A new program at Friendship Center. We will assign each volunteer to a member as a buddy. Then we schedule time for you to visit with your buddy once a week or more, and share conversation, bring in photos, read out loud, or just get to know one another.
